First Place at Vineman Showdown

I need to putting a homing device on these ladies! They sneak by with these fantastic race results so quietly!

We have yet ANOTHER fantastic podium finish - Kelly finished 1st at the Vineman Showdown, a little spring warmup sprint in Marin. She was not only first in her age group, but first lady overall to cross that line!Looking good on the bike!

Finishing Strong Number 1!

The runners of Pac Bikes!

Our ladies don't just focus on triathlon, many in fact are accomplished in the individual disciplines. Last week we had 3 ladies tie on their running shoes - Jeri and Alli at the Boston Marathon and Kelly at the inaugural Marin County 10K.

And man did their shoes move fast!

Jeri and Alli both had flying fast days in Beantown, running through the throngs of fans on the course cheering them on. Looks like they just might be heading to Boston again in 2010! Way to go girls!

Kelly showed her stuff against pro-triathlete Becky Lavelle at the Marin 10k as part of the Marin Marathon and 1/2 Marathon just before the Boston Marathon events took place. Kelly was right on the heels of Ms. Lavelle and finished 3rd of all ladies and 2nd in her age group! Nicely done Kelly.

Heather brings it at Sea Otter!

Heather showed the ladies how it's done in the Women's Cat 2 Cross Country race on her mountain bike this past weekend at Sea Otter.

Heather won her age group and was 3rd lady overall in the Cat 2 group. I don't think you can get much faster than that! Nice job, girl.

Barreling through the course.
Coming through the morning fog!

Way to go Kari!

Kari took on the Enviro Sports Muir Woods 25k this passed weekend. No small feat considering all that climbing we know the Headlands entail. She even beat her time from last year by 6 minutes, which brought her to a 7th place finish for ALL women! Nicely done, Kari.

Check out the elevation of that 25k!

Congrats to Amy and Shannon!

It's been a busy few weeks, between New Orleans 70.3 and Oceanside 70.3 we had a couple other ladies flying solo at Xterra Folsom and Cal Poly Olympic Tri.

Amy had the fastest swim of the day and earned herself a 3rd place spot on the podium. Congrats Amy!Amy, looking good on the bike!

Shannon also took on the off-roading at the Xterra Real Mountain Bike Tri in Folsom. Her 4th place finish earned her points towards Xterra series. She'll be taking on another in May.
Nicely done Shannon!

Ironman New Orleans, 70.3

Go Hailey, Go Hailey!

Miss Hailey took to the deep south on April 5th to conquer the inaugural Ironman New Orleans, 70.3. To her surprise, the 5am weather was a bit warmer than anticipated and proved to be a challenge throughout the day. The first challenge came in the swim however, as many racers discovered that their "slow" swim times were due to a 1.4 mile course being mis-measured, rather than the 1.2 mile course. Despite the tough humid heat and some brutal wind, Hailey came out of the bike with enough left in the tank to dig deep on the run and finish in 3rd place! Hailey is now going to Clearwater this fall. Way to go girl!

Next stop - Wildflower and heat training!

(finish time represents clock time, not Hailey's incredible 5:04 despite the humid/heat/wind challenges of the day!)

Ironman California, Oceanside 70.3

Congratulations to several fabulous ladies in pink who raced the 2009 Ironman California on April 4th. Pink was in the house for the sunny SoCal race with 5 of us racing. The morning was a bit chilly, which made the 59 degree water all the more welcoming at the start!

In the 40-44 age group, Sidney conquered the tough bike course. Here she is on the bike looking strong!

In the 30-34 age group, our Kona Bound Ariane worked the course on her pink Elite bike, with the 5th fastest bike split of the age group.

Ms Monica made a fantastic 2009 debut/comeback. Just look at that smile! She also had a blazing fast run and came in 15th in her division. Nicely done Monica!

Leisha, our swimming superstar jogs out of the water into T1 in this photo. You'll see she's surrounded by men. Why you ask? Oh that's because she passed the guys in the wave before her to come out with the 3rd fastest swim time in her age group, 29:06. Yowsah that is fast!

And then there is me, Lara, enjoying the day. I was stoked to have a 1:59 run, in my 3rd go at this distance, my best yet!

Congrats to all the ladies for a great job! Recover well, you deserve it after all. Next up - Wildflower!
