Cruising the Headlands

Kari and Erin took to the trails of Marin this weekend, Kari rocking the Dipsea in just over an hour, but no official results just yet. Kari took on the Dipsea for her first time and loved all of the other runners out there racing for their PR.

Erin conquered the XTerra Marin Headlands Trail 21k. And what sounded like a last minute sign up turned out to bring Erin a 2nd place finish! No small feat on those tough trails.

Way to go ladies!

I'll have some altitude with my TT

Working our way back West, Hailey and hubby Mark passed on EFA to go race the Sattley TT, a 40k time trial at 5000ft+! Unsuspecting Hailey though this will be no trouble and was ready to rock it! Suprise, Hailey you are at 5k feet and the thin air has gotten to your brain! Miss Hailey found the altitude made it tough to breathe up there while working out-um scratch that while time trialing/redlining it? TOUGH! Despite all that, she still rocked it, in the cat 4 women, she took 1st in a time of 1:03:45...and didn't even lose her cool! What a lung buster and some very good mental training!

Your first is always special! Kansas 70.3

Taking the cake for the farthest distance traveled this past weekend, Laura takes the cake at Ironman 70.3 Kansas. This was Laura's first half so a big event to be sure! The swim sounded a bit crazy, after Laura survived a face kick and was left with only one eye to use! Nice intro to the half world! Laura also found her a love for passing those same aggressive dudes from the swim while crushing them on her new TT bike! Laura took on the challenge for the half and did a fantastic job.

The Escapees!

This weekend we had our team of EFAer's, Jeri, Kelly, Leishia, Leah, Vicki, and Monica! All of our ladies have something to be proud of. And wow was the weather was spectacular! Looks like the swim was a bit slow (6 minutes) but that didn't deter any of our ladies!

Kelly rocked the house of the 20-24 ladies and took 1st, with a smokin run! Podium numero uno, nice work lady!

Leah was next up in the 30-34 age group and this lady was an animal up the sand ladder! She had the 11th best sand ladder time in her age group...putting those out of towners to shame! Nice work Leah!Leishia is up next and rocked the mighty swim for the 3rd best swim time in her AG! Nice job Leishia...that swim is a beast!

Monica did her very first EFA this weekend and this rookie had a stellar result, taking 4th in the 40-44 women! Fantastic job Monica, and way to rock the bike in under an hour! Those hills are not to be treated lightly :)

Vicki is up next and also did her first EFA this past weekend and had some mixed emotions about it, which I think we can all relate to, racing beings out everything you have and is pretty raw :) Vicki took 12th in the AG, but like Leah was 4th on the sand ladder...way to show em how to work it Vicki!Jeri also raced EFA for the, what number was this Jeri? time! This time our Jeri captured 2nd place in her category and sounds like there was some pretty heated competition out there with a lady from up North! We all love that kind of mental push :)

What a great weekend ladies, such great results and such a beautiful weekend!

Killing it at Boise 70.3!

Close by in Idaho we had three ladies in pink representing in what sounds like a bit of a wet race! Ann W, Jessie and Rosy were out there.

Jessie took 5th in the 25-29 group and as is becoming de rigeur, had the best swim of the age group! Way to go hot mama :)

Ann also took a top 10 age group finish and was 9th in her division. Ann is becoming quite the pro in wet conditions and gets kudos for maintaining a great attitude in "adverse conditions"...channeling that talk on sports psychology anyone? Way to go Ann!

June starts it off with more podiums!

Starting June off with a bang with the inaugural Anchorman Triathlon and the Lake Berryessa open water swims.

At Lake Berryessa, in the 1 mile wet suit division we had one Laura Kukta who got third overall!! This gal is racing Kansas 70.3 this weekend as her first half. Laura, we are all behind you and this swim shows you're hot stuff!

In the 1 mile non-wetsuit swim, we had Miss Kelly D. Kelly was able to nab the 7th spot in the 18-24 division, she's working on that swim ladies and we had better watch out!

In the 2-mile wetsuit swim, Lara was rockin' the 25-29 getting her gills ready for CDA in just over a week! Kill 'em Lara!

In the 2 mile no wet suit division we had our resident mergals, Erin and Jessie. Erin swam the 2 miles in 49 minutes and Jessie was nipping at her heels, quite literally I think as she came out of the water just 7 seconds after Erin! Wowza gals, 2 miles in 49 minutes? That is smokin' fast! Erin was 11th gal in 25-29 and Jessie was 14th.

Our second race, Anchorman Triathlon was taken on by guys and dolls, but we'll only talk about the Pink ladies.

Dorette took 3rd in her AG and 7th OA of all the ladies that competed. This was great considering the course and its challenges of being new and word that the swim was open to interpretation for some. Even with the trouble in the water we had two other finishers, Daria and Hope. Hope was also in D2's AG and got 5th place and 11th OA, Hope nice work! Daria was movin' the 30-34 AG and got 2nd place! You ladies showed them what we do!D2 with her award, along with man in black - John who also took a podium spot!

More May Races!

Going back a couple weeks to catch up with the ladies in Pink, it's hard to keep track some times! We have had women racing literally every weekend from Hawaii to the Bay.

First up, we had Ariane and Monica at the Honu half in beautiful Hawaii. It was a magical day in the Hawaiian heat and you can see just how well our girls did, or rather how hard they stomped on the competition!!

Monica, miss sunshine herself was able to knock out a 10th place finish with the 8th best bike in her age group. Awesome job lady!

Ariane- had a breakthrough performance in Hawaii...tells of what's to come in October. This monster pulled out a 3rd place AG finish and 8th OA..yes including the pros that were there! Ariane had the same bike time (ok plus like 30 seconds- but who's counting) as Belinda Granger- you know the pro?!! She was 1 small little minute off the COURSE RECORD! Nice job Ariane!

Next up we had our girls representing at the Toughest race in Auburn.

Sarah B did the half and was able to get a 4th place AG finish! What a race Sarah!

The rest of our gals took on the olympic distance and smooshed the rest of the girls out there!

Stefanie took 4th in the 25-29 group, a stellar performance for what her third? triathlon ever! And as usual, mergirl was the first out of the water! Way to rock that swim Stefanie!

In the 30-34 category we had Erica and Liz B. Erica motored to a 2nd place finish in the AG and Liz was 6th! Erica was able to put a great swim/bike combo together to solidify her standings! Excellent work out there in the heat ladies!

Cara was up next and rocked a third place finish in her AG, lovin' the Pac Bikes Podiums! Excellent work ladies!
Sarah kicking it into 4th place!
