Kona Kalling

It's Tuesday before Kona. The big dance is coming up. Our ladies have stomped the competition this year and punched their cards, earning that coveted spot among the world's very best. Now they get the chance, to do the dance, in the hot sun of Kona, where winds will blow every which way. But our girls don't fear, they have the Power of Pink with them all the way!

Ariane is all smiles, we can see it from the Cali coast! Rosy with determination, our youngest! Meredith, like a pro, will show us all how its done!

We wish our girls the best of luck, a beautiful day, full of challenges and triumph. We'll be cheering for you all!

Flick our swimsuit model!

One of our Aussies, Felicity, has been making a claim for herself at quite a few races lately. This past weekend she dazzled everyone at the See Jane Tri Sprint triathlon. This is fresh off a nice performance down at the Nautica Malibu Triathlon only a few weeks earlier!

Felicity came out of the water, looking hot and ready to rock the bike, which of course she did with an avg of 21.6 mph! Smoking fast! She didn't stop there, she made sure she passed any remaining ladies in the 25-29 age group on the run to come in first!

From IM Moo to the Waves of Santa Cruz

Pia took 3rd at Ironman Wisconsin earlier this month and punched her ticket for Kona!

Down in Santa Cruz, the team took the podium by storm.

The women's 25-29 age group has never been so stacked with PB'ers or fast chicas alike. Erin, Stefanie and Rachel started things off with a bang with the fastest swim times. Erin was the lead lady out of the water in 21 minutes, with Rachel at 22 and Stefanie back at 23! Out onto the bikes we went where Rosy had the best bike of the age group, and Hailey was right behind for the 2nd fastest bike split of the day! The run came last with Rosy leading the path followed by Erin. What a day it was, Rosy got 1st in the AG, followed by a best performance from Erin who took 2nd!! Rachel was 4th, Hailey came in next at 7th place and Stefanie broke into the top 10 with a 9th placing and a PR by 13 minutes!!! Way to go Stefanie! Rosy was also the 1st place overall woman and Erin was the 8th best woman! Fast gals abounded today!

Next up is our 30-34 gals Ariane and Angela, one of our newest members! Ariane was able to score the 2nd best time in her AG, kicking booty all the way home and Angela was able to complete her first full Olympic course with a great time. Ariane was the 7th fastest female overall!

Leishia was able to start the race and get all the way through the bike before her calves started to say no, no,no! Just like Amy winehouse right Leishia?! Leishia of course though was able to be fast like lightning in the water all the way through T2. Hope you feel better lady!

Vikki was out there today racing for the ladies 50-54 and broke into the top 10 with and 8th place finish and after the race, while she nearly fell over :) Vikki was so pumped to break 3 hours. And boy did she crush it! Way to go Vikki, it always feels great to set a PR.

Awesome job today ladies, a tasty treat is deserved by all!

thanks to Yi for the photos!

August Recap

Plenty of action has been happening with our Ladies in Pink in August.

Starting out with Lake Stevens 70.3 up North:

We had two fantastic little ladies racing Erin and Rachel both masters of the 25-29 age group.
Both ladies are terrific swimmers and showed that talent this weekend.

Erin was the 3rd swimmer out of the water in 27:50, I am sure she was chasing those gals down, she likes to be 1st out of the water! Off to the bike she went where she cruised until t2 and then put on her running shoes. Our Ms Moody was able to pace 8min miles the entire time (must be those Kezar sessions with D paying off!) which took her to a 9th place age group finish in a time of 5:17:34! Way to rock it Erin!

Rachel our other resident mergirl was zipping through the water as well with a time of 29:45- 8th out of the water. She got onto the bike, which she has been working on and was able to hammer out a 2:52 good for 6th best in the AG! Rachel got into T2 and hit the run and was able to hold on for a 12th place finish in the AG with a final time of 5:25! Rachel nice job out there.
Even further North, Ironman Canada:

Monica completed her 5th Ironman in Canada! After some serious training, Monica battled the extreme heat and crummy air from local wildfires to pull together a phenomenal race. She was 15th out of the water in her age group, held strong on the bike, even on those tough climbs and was able to find her running legs as soon as her feet hit the ground. Monica finished 8th in her age group, way to go Monica!

Turn up the heat! Vineman 70.3

We had an amazing showing last weekend with 12 of our ladies representin' in the heat. With temps well into the 90's and inching closer towards 100 as the afternoon progressed on.

25-29 got the party started, literally, as the first women's AG to go off at 6:54 AM! Talk about beating the heat...well at least we tried. Starting off with Rachel, she dominated in the swim as is her MO with a blazing time of 28: Rachel had a massive improvement over last year's race and finished 14th in the AG in a time of 5:18 vs last year's 6:05...Rachel way to rock it!!

Next up we have Hailey, taking the age group bike by storm with the fastest split and a 4th place podium finish!Hailey had a race best time of 4:57 which was great even though her hubby asked after the race if she was "injured"! Hailey was also rocking the pink bikini in style, turning heads all over the course!

Lastly in the 25-29 AG is podium spot #1 Rosy! Rosy had a beautiful race, took the run down and had the best run split of the day for the AG. Excellent work Rosy, way to bounce back from a fall, hopefully this gave you some major confidence!

Now if you put these 3 together, they could be unbeatable...relay anyone?

Next up we had Meredith and Ariane racing for the 30-34 AG.
Ariane was able to bounce back from last year when a crash stopped her journey to the Vineman finish. This year there was a tree down, but thankfully only heeded her progress on the bike course. She still managed to fly through the bike and looked cheerful as always! Ariane finished 7th in the AG and 21st woman OA. Awesome job!

Meredith rocked it from front to back, with the awards announcer hinting that there is some money to be won if she turns pro She was the 1st in 30-34 and the first amateur lady with a smokin' time of 4:28:10! Awesome job Meredith, so great to see you out there!

In the 35-39 category we had Cara S, Danielle, and Laura K!
Danielle was able to come in 18th in the AG, and man can that gal bike! She had one of the fastest bikes in the AG with a 2:37 time! Awesome job Danielle :)

Cara took down Vineman in 6:08, having a steady race the entire time...although it looks as if she misplaced her shoes in T2 having a bit of a delay going out onto the run...hmmmm where are my shoes? Among 2000 pair, they all look the same!
This was Laura's 2nd half as well, tackling Kansas just a month ago...talk about a program! Laura's husband Steve finished ahead of me and when i saw him again he was going out to be team cheerleader and find his wife! He found her out there slogging through the 95+ heat rocking the course! Nice job Laura, you wear that pink well :)

Leishia had a fantastic swim exiting the water in 28 minutes and out onto the bike course. Nice job Leishia!

Kathleen just joined us this year placed 33rd overall. Nice job Kathleen, you will have to tell us how the race went for you, but it looked like a steady race from beginning to end so a big congrats!

Our Dorette rounds out the 40-44 category and was able to finish due to some serious mental training! DNF's are never good, and Dorette we are proud of your tenacity- tell those leg cramps to scram! Dorette came out of the water and to her surprise there were many bikes around...things are looking good! The run was where the cramping began...heat too much for hard working muscles, but she was able to turn in a 13th place finish and a great training day for St george!

Ironman Austria

Congratulations to our Anne T.!!! What a race on Sunday in Austria. All of that German food must have agreed with her on race day as Anne managed a 7th place finish among the women 40-44.

Anne was like a fish in the water and swam the 2.4 in 1:07 for the sixth best swim in AG. Onto the bike where she averaged 31.61 Km/HR...go to European country to have a fantastic average on the bike! Next time someone askes her, she can say oh I averaged 31... :) Anne had two great transitions and hit the run. She snuck in under 4 hours with a run time of 3:59, which lead to another sneaky time of 10:59 overall.

Anne way to come in under that 11 hour mark, what an accomplishment. Here's to a speedy recovery and a few days of schnitzle and beer!
